Season 2 has come to a close even though we technically did not play all our games. The final standings as of tonight show Everton (Monarchos159) has been declared the winner. Congratulations to him as he is an exceptional player. I noticed that tikemhomas left the League so that's why the records show less games played. Once a player leaves the League, their game results are automatically taken away.
As the Standings have it, here is how we all faired (Season 3 picks in red):

Ballgame59 will be using Tottenham for Season 3 as he has yet to use his favorite team due to a mix up when picking Season 2 teams.
New for this season, I will be adding a season ending tournament to entice everyone to play and complete the season. The season ending tournament will hopefully include everyone (depending on how many teams the game limits for the playoffs). I figure this gives everyone a chance to hoist the silverware in the event some of us just run into a bad period of form and lose a couple big matches or there are connection issues during the season. The match time will remain the same at 6 minute halves, unless there is overwhelming support to increase the time length. We will also keep the total times we play agaiinst each other at 2 games.
Due to the way the Leagues are set up on the PS3, I have to re-create the League with the new settings. Also, I will have to boot everyone and then re-invite you back. You'll receive instructions via PS3 PM. Once everyone has picked their team, I will begin this process.
Also, if you know of anyone that wants to join the League, please feel free to invite them. They will get to pick their teams after we have finished our selections. They will get their picks on a first come, first serve basis based on when they make their initial post in this thread. I will update our draft list to include their names once they reply here.
So, please respond here with your team of choice per your draft order and include any changes you'd like made.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest: I don't really understand the picking order since Crystian and I are in the last third to pick our team though we played last season with teams rated 4 stars that were not our favorites. I would really appreciate if we can create a more fair picking order where the users who played the 5 and 4,5 stars teams of last season are switch with us in the order so that everyone has the chance to play with their favorites once.

ReplyDeleteActually, I see what you are saying now. It is the order that is the issue. I think that whoever played with the lowest team should pick first, after the three of us picked our teams. I also wish people could start picking their teams in general! I would like to get this league started. It has been over a month since I played a league match.
ReplyDeleteThe ordering is based on how we finished in the Standings. So, if you sucked in Season 2, you get first crack at picking a better team to hopefully propel you to a better finish. If you are good it is either the product of the team you chose or your impressive skills. Either way, I feel this brings competitive balance.

ReplyDeleteOne thing that I might suggest for the future is that we get to pick teams as soon as Martin says go. If 2 or more owners pick the same team, then the owner with the worse record be "awarded" the team. That way, we don't have to wait so long for the next pick. Let's say we give it 3 days to a week for everyone to check in and pick. If an owner does not pick in that time, he sits out the season.

Hmm Im having trouble deciding this one guys I dont know weather to go with West Ham again or New Castle, Stoke Sunderland or Chelsea. It has been really tough for me but unless you guys dont want me to I will take Chelsea I hate Carlton Cole and wont pick West Ham again even though Barrera is awesome. If I get too many objections for picking Chelsea then I Suppose Stoke City will be my next pick.

ReplyDeleteSo unless we add someone else, this process took just over 5 days. I say that is fair for next season's "Draft". Especially with the new Facebook page. Those of us who can receive FB alerts on our phones should know when it's your turn. (I still haven't figured out FB.)
I've played MANY fantasy sports & this is becoming very similar - only YOU can actually control your team further than setting a line up. So I'd say that it is BETTER than any fantasy league that I've been in!
I agree Leo this is definitely fitting of a "fantasy" type league as far as choosing a team. However the Ultimate version on this would be if leagues were to be able to set up through the Ultimate Team. That to me would be a literal Fantasy League with ultimate control. With the count of 11 owners the games to be played should be up to 22 should it not? and I have another person I am seeing if they are interested in joining out league. So we might have one more to add. Consistent player always see him on lime so we will see if He decides to join our group here. Well hopefully the league gets reset this week and we can start season 3 games this weekend. Good luck to everyone and I'll see you on the Virtual Playing pitch :D
ReplyDeleteAt first I really liked the Ultimate team but then I would so geared up to play then someone would need a new contract. Or fitness. Or whatever and it really soured me. I like the concept, I just think that there should be a "Transfer window" type feature so that you can concentrate on THAT at that period of time and not in between games.
ReplyDeletewell It gets easier to manage when you get better players. I rotate all my players so their Fitness always stays around 85 at the least. And my fresh player come in to give them a one game rest then my main big players come back on And I usually have it set up so I only lose two or three big ones at a time. The Contracts are easy doing the auctions late at night or early in the morning lets you find great ones for cheap.
